Collaborate With Us

Working with one of the world's leading centres in Informatics can benefit your business in many ways.

About our School

Informatics is the study of how natural and artificial systems store, process and communicate information.

The School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh is one of the best in the world.  We have a substantial national and international reputation in research, teaching and commercialisation. For research, Edinburgh is the largest and highest rated computing department in the UK. The latest Teaching Quality Assessment Exercise also ranked us as 'excellent' for our teaching.

The size of our school means that we are big enough to provide outstanding facilities for our staff, students and collaborators. Our city centre premises include a newly refurbished Knowledge Transfer and Commercialisation Centre and a brand new research centre, the Informatics Forum.

Commercialisation & Knowledge Transfer

Our dedicated Knowledge Transfer and Commercialisation Team can help you find the relevant expertise from within the School and across our research pooling activities. The team consists of the School's Director of Commercialisation and four business development executives who work alongside the many research teams within Informatics.

The Informatics Knowledge Transfer and Commercialisation Centre in Appleton Tower provides excellent facilities for our industrial collaborations and commercialisation activity.
