Recent advancements in property testing

In this short talk I will present a few of the results in distributional property testing, namely an algorithm for identity testing of two black box distributions, give a surprising lower bound and explain why it is surprising, compared to e.g. a uniformity testing result. 

Data mining and analysis in extreme conditions, or just an example of where the data might come from

IIn this talk I will I will give a general overview of Krasnoyarsk Region, show some descriptive photos and describe certain data acquisition technologies used by field ornithologists. I will speak about some data analysis methods used in practice and give general comments on life at a remote laboratory.
