"Bypassing the implementations of "codes of modesty" in Iranian post-revolutionary cinema"

The Islamic revolution in Iran, 1979, brought along fundamental changes in many aspects of Iranian life, cinema being one of them. Not only women were now expected to wear a veil, but to also look, act and behave "modestly"- any form of physical contact between men and women being out of question! This resulted in a vaguely defined "codes of modesty" which I will try to explain a little more about and also I will talk about the changes in Iranian cinema -mostly in this aspect- during the last 30 years.
